A delegation of the International Bank for Economic Co-operation, headed by the Chairman of the Bank's Board, Denis Ivanov, takes part in the work of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. SPIEF has long become a key Russian dialogue platform for politicians and businessmen, a place for discussing the most pressing issues of international development. This year, a significant part of the forum agenda is devoted to the issues of sustainable development, green investments, digital technologies, support for small and medium-sized businesses - topics that are relevant in the activities of IBEC and playing the important role in the new Development Strategy of the Bank.
Apart from plenary sessions and panel discussions, the forum program traditionally includes many business contacts, signings of agreements and contracts. For IBEC, the St. Petersburg Forum has also become a place where new partnerships are being formed and developed. The cooperation agreement with the Russian Export Center Group assumes the expansion of partnership precisely on the key sustainable development goals - ecology, energy saving, smart urban infrastructure, new technologies in healthcare. IBEC and REC intend to work together in promoting such advanced Russian technologies and products. REC is a Russian state institute for the support of non-resource exports, consolidating a group of companies that provide Russian exporters with a wide range of support measures. The REC group includes the Russian Agency for Export credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR), EXIMBANK OF RUSSIA and School of Export.
“Governments and state development institutions in many countries are taking measures to attract additional resources in order to promote green technologies and improve adaptation to climate change. Russia is no exception here. For Russian companies, such projects are extremely important, and we are happy to combine effective financial solutions and the experience of colleagues from the IBEC for their implementation”, – said Nikita Gusakov, Senior Vice President of REC.
At the signing ceremony, IBEC head Denis Ivanov commented on the prospects of working with REC: “IBEC and the institutions of the REC group fruitfully interact in a number of areas, we already have a lot of jointly implemented projects. I am sure that the signing of the Cooperation Agreement will be an important step in further strengthening of our connections. Russia is a member country of the IBEC, and we see great prospects in supporting the export of goods and services, primarily contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals, from the Russian Federation to other IBEC member countries, as well as to non-member countries. Collaboration with REC can give a good synergistic effect for our clients, and we are glad to see such organizations of the REC group as EXIAR and EXIMBANK OF RUSSIA, among our reliable partners. "
