IBEC develops cooperation with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research

The International Bank for Economic Co-operation and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) have signed a Cooperation Agreement. Two international organizations, financial and scientific, have 8 common members – all the IBEC member countries are also members of JINR. Therefore, the development of a partnership naturally fits into the logic of serving the interests of participants. It is symbolic that the signing of the document took place within the framework of the 136th Council meeting of the International Bank for Economic Co-operation. Due to pandemic restrictions, the IBEC Council is once again held online, so JINR representative, the director of the Institute, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Grigory Trubnikov, also signed the agreement via remote access.

The subject of the agreement is the establishment and development of cooperation between the IBEC and JINR in the field of work with the suppliers of the Institute in terms of export and trade financing, joining efforts for the effective implementation of the Institute's industrial return program and using the potential of long-term financial and economic cooperation.

Despite the framework nature of the document, IBEC and JINR already have a well-developed "road map" and intend to start its practical implementation in the very near future. “Today, with great pleasure, we sign the agreement online, but we take as an obligation a visit to the IBEC by a large team to discuss steps to implement the agreements,” – said Grigory Trubnikov.

IBEC and JINR began their successful cooperation back in 2019. The Bank has developed and implemented a mechanism for guaranteeing supplies under contracts for the implementation of the unique NICA Collider project. “We are already cooperating with two companies – Polish Frako-Term and Czech manufacturer of vacuum systems, which supply a number of components for the NICA collider. We are confident that such close cooperation will further strengthen our reputation as an international bank not only among our member countries, but also on a wider scale, among other states that may also join us in the future”, – stressed during the signing ceremony Chairman of the IBEC Board Denis Ivanov.

IBEC head also highlighted the role of the Polish-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation between the IBEC and JINR. Since 2019, the Chamber has been the official coordinator of the cooperation of Polish companies with JINR, which allows it to inform Polish companies operating in various sectors about JINR procurement plans, inviting them to cooperation. Currently, a consortium of Polish companies is being created on the basis of the Polish company Frako-Term (the first IBEC client who started working with JINR) to cooperate with the Institute in the framework of ongoing projects.
