IBEC and Polish-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry sign agency agreement

On 18 September, 2018 the International Bank for Economic Co-operation (IBEC) and the Polish-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Warsaw signed an agency agreement. The event was attended by Chamber President Hanna Wielgosz Velgos, IBEC Chairman Denis Ivanov and IBEC Board member Lidia Anchakovska.

The agreement is the next step in implementing the IBEC Development Strategy intended to boost the Bank’s activities in IBEC member states. Mandated as an international development institution, the Bank seeks to support IBEC member economies by facilitating international trade and investment operations in these countries.

The agency agreement calls for expanding the IBEC’s presence on the Polish market and strengthening its brand awareness in the local business community in order to build up the client franchise across Polish companies and counterparties.

The Chamber will focus on providing information and advice on the entire IBEC product range to potential Polish clients who could later apply to the Bank for loans or customer accounts, including those for payments to partners from other IBEC member states in foreign and national currencies.

Moreover, the Chamber will monitor and identify export-import operations between Polish companies and partners from IBEC member states or third countries, for which the Bank can offer its trade financing products.

The signing of the agency agreement is a significant milestone on the IBEC’s track record, contributing to a wider geographical footprint both in Poland and across Europe.

The partnership with an agent in Poland brings the IBEC closer to prospective clients in other European member states.

Founded in 1993, the Polish-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Warsaw is a leading non-governmental organisation intended to promote the development of business relations between entities in Poland and Russia.
