About Visit of the IBEC Delegation to Romania

Meetings of I.V. Golovchenko, Chairman of the IBEC’s Board, with the management of the Ministry of Public Finance, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Tourism, and the Ministry of Energy, Small and Medium Enterprises and Business Environment of Romania were held within the framework of working visit of the delegation of the International Bank for Economic Cooperation to Romania on August 24-25, 2015. 

In the course of meetings with the representatives of the Romanian public authorities I.V. Golovchenko, Chairman of the IBEC’s Board, has informed about changes occurring in the Bank, conducted work to improve the efficiency and modernization of the IBEC, the purpose of which will be to extend economic cooperation with the IBEC member states. A gratitude was acknowledged to the Romanian representatives in the IBEC Council for pro-active stand, constructive approach and support in solution of the tasks that face the Bank.

During negotiations, the Romanian party representatives repeatedly highlighted that Romania still pays special attention to the IBEC and intends to actively cooperate with the Bank in the future.

The Parties emphasized the mutual willingness and readiness to cooperate, not limiting it with the scope of only relations between Romania and the Russian Federation, but also taking into account the needs of all the IBEC member states.

Within the framework of the visit, a meeting was held with Export-Import Bank of Romania - EXIMBANK JSC, during which the resumption of cooperation in the short term that might result in a long-term and mutually beneficial partnership was discussed.

Moreover, during the visit a meeting was held in the Ministry of Energy, Small and Medium Enterprises and Business Environment of Romania with the heads of SNGN Romgaz JSC, Electrocentrale Group JSC, Nuclearelectrica JSC, as well as other major companies involved in energy sector of Romania. 

Furthermore, meetings were held with the heads of small and medium enterprises in different sectors of economy of Romania in the Chamber for Economic and Cultural Cooperation between Romania and Russia, jointly with the representatives of the Russian Embassy in Romania.

The Parties discussed the prospects of IBEC work with the Romanian business structures, taking into account the needs of the Romanian economy, the availability of joint Romanian-Russian projects and signed cooperation agreements.
