On 9 November 2017, the representatives of the International Bank for Economic Co-operation (IBEC) by invitation of All Russia Public Organization “Business Russia” took part in the seminar “Participation of the Russian Business in Project Finance through International Organizations”.
Among speakers who attended the event were the representatives of public authorities and business community of the Russian Federation: the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Bank of Russia, as well as the representatives of international and intergovernmental organizations, UNIDO Centre for International Industrial Cooperation in the Russian Federation, SCO Business Club and others.
The representatives of international financial organizations told about the opportunities of financial backing for Russian projects. In particular, Natalia Malanicheva, Director of the Client Relations Department of the IBEC, told about approaches that the Bank applies when evaluating the projects for aims of financing, including trade finance, and about the IBEC’s unique settlement mechanisms, which the Bank successfully applies.
In conclusion, Nonna Kagramanyan, Vice President of “Business Russia”, who acted as the seminar moderator, pointed out that there is a critical need to raise awareness among business community of the conditions and instruments of project finance, of the principles and procedure of liaison with international financial organisations, as well as expressed her hope for more active participation of the Russian business in the development of international cooperation and competition in foreign markets.
