IBEC and JSC Ufa International Airport Implement Project for Reconstruction of Domestic Airlines Terminal Hub

On 11 December 2017, the International Bank for Economic Co-operation (IBEC) and Joint Stock Company Ufa International Airport (JSC MAU) concluded agreements to provide financial support from the IBEC in the amount of RUB 1 bn to the significant infrastructure project in the Russian Federation – the first stage of reconstruction of the domestic airlines terminal hub.

The Ufa International Airport ranks among the top ten leading airports of Russia, it is one of the largest airports in the Volga Federal District of the Russian Federation whose passenger traffic exceeds 2.3 million people per annum.

The urgent need to reconstruct the domestic air lines terminal subsequent to a new international terminal that was built for the SCO and BRICS summits was emphasized by Mr. Rustem Mardanov, Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2017. At the Forum, the Memorandum on Cooperation and Liaison in connection with implementation of the project “Reconstruction of the Domestic Airlines Terminal Hub (DATH), Stage 1” of Joint Stock Company Ufa International Airport was signed between the IBEC and the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Afterwards, the IBEC and JSC MAU held a number of negotiations and agreed upon the particulars of cooperation, which were reflected in the concluded agreements.
