IBEC Entered into Long-Term Cooperation with the Leading Vietnamese Commercial Banks

Mutual relations between the International Bank for Economic Co-operation and financial institutions of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam moved to a new level as a result of a number of meetings held on 30 June 2017 in terms of the Russian-Vietnamese business forum in Moscow.

The IBEC plans to finance the projects in Vietnam and invest funds in the government bonds of the country.

During the meetings of the Bank delegation headed by Ms. Irina Golovchenko, Board Chairman, with Mr. Phan Duc Tu, Chief Executive Officer of BIDV Bank, and Mr. Le Duc Tho, General Director of VietinBank, the agreements on extending and activating cooperation were reached. Similar agreements were also reached as a result of negotiations held between the IBEC’s responsible executives and representatives of Vietcombank.

During negotiations, the parties discussed opening of correspondent accounts in Vietnamese dongs and other currencies, lending to small and medium enterprises through the leading Vietnamese commercial banks and joint financing of projects in Vietnam.
