On May 24, 2017, the IBEC’s delegation composed of Ms. Lidia Anchakovska, Board Member from the Republic of Poland, and Ms. Natalia Malanicheva, Director of the Client Relations Department, visited the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Moscow. The event took place by invitation of the Polish Business Club with support from the Economic Section and the Trade and Investment Promotion Section of the Embassy.
The session was started by Mr. Alexander Janeczek, President of the Management Board of the Polish Business Club, who expressed interest in supporting Polish business by the international intergovernmental development institution.
Following the introduction made by Ms. Lidia Anchakovska, the meeting participants learned about history of the Bank and obtained useful information about the products and services provided by the IBEC through a presentation delivered by Ms. Natalia Malanicheva. The Director of the Client Relations Department emphasized that the IBEC as part of its strategy will promote the strengthening and expansion of economic relations of Polish and Russian business with enterprises and organizations of the Bank’s member countries and other countries.
At the meeting, the parties put an increased focus on discussion of the issue of investments in the Russian regions. A report on this topic was delivered by a special guest of the meeting - Ms. Natalya Zubarevich, Director of the regional program of the Independent Institute for Social Policy and the winner of Yegor Gaidar award in economics. In the conclusion of the discussion, Mr. Alexander Janeczek invited the Bank’s delegation together with representatives of the Polish Business Club to visit a special economic zone in Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation, which is of interest to the Polish investors, and Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, in order to hold a number of meetings with potential business partners.
Upon completion of the presentation, the IBEC’s delegation held negotiations with representatives of Polish and Russian business, during which specific projects and possible areas of cooperation were discussed.
