IBEC strengthens business relations with the Czech Republic

The representatives of the International Bank for Economic Co-operation (IBEC) took part in the Russian-Czech Business Forum, which was held on May 29, 2017 in the International Trade Center, Moscow.

The forum was organized as part of preparation for the meeting of the Russian-Czech Intergovernmental Commission at the initiative of Mr. O.V. Tony and Mr. Z. Zbytek, Chairmen of the Russian-Czech and Czech-Russian Business Councils, for the purpose of discussing the topical issues of development of economic cooperation between the two countries.

The forum was attended by Mr. Jiri Havlicek, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, Mr. Alexander Morozov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Mr. Vladimir Remek, Ambassador of the Czech Republic in the Russian Federation, and Mr. Alexander Zmeevskiy, Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Czech Republic, members of trade missions of both countries, representatives of the Russian and Czech business in the field of energy industry, automotive industry, logistics, tourism, and other areas of business cooperation. The IBEC’s delegation was headed by the head of customer management division.

A broad range of issues of economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Czech Republic was discussed in the course of the forum. At the event, opening statements were made by Mr. Jiri Havlicek, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, and Mr. Alexander Morozov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, who emphasized strengthening of foreign trade relations between the two countries under the conditions of a complicated world political environment and economic downfall of both countries. A separate business event block was devoted to the presentation of the Czech companies, which have successfully implemented business projects in the Russian Federation.

As part of the forum business block, the IBEC’s representatives held working meetings with Mr. Zdenek Zbytek, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Business Council of Entrepreneurs of the Czech Republic for Cooperation with Russia, and Mr. Frantisek Masopust, Executive Director of the Chamber of Trade and Industry of the Czech Republic for CIS countries. The issues of supporting the implementation of joint Russian-Czech projects were discussed.

Negotiations on cooperation were held with representatives of the Czech business: SIGMA Pumpy Hranice, Zimatechnik, Bakes & partneri, PRK partners and a number of other enterprises. Business representatives of the Czech Republic and the Russian Federation became interested in cooperation with the IBEC on effecting trade finance operations, lending and settlement service.
