International Bank for Economic Co-operation partners up with Belgazprombank, one of the largest financial institutes in Belarus. The partnership assumes active support of international trade between IBEC member countries and Belarus. The Belorussian bank received the first tranche in amount of 10M euro for 2 years for financing foreign trade contracts, concluded between Russian and Belorussian companies for shipment of polymer products.
Transaction volume, as well as previous operations on trade financing with banks of the Republic of Belarus, proves demand for IBEC's support of foreign trade connections of its member countries and shows practical strengthening of collaboration with financial institutes of Belarus.
Denis Ivanov, Chairman of the IBEC Board, presumes that the agreement, which aligns with the new IBEC strategy, allows to significantly expand the bank's role in economic cooperation between IBEC countries and CIS. IBEC member states are actively implementing the integration potential of collaboration with CIS countries, and IBEC's involvement will provide additional support to this process. Agreement with Belgazprombank indicates the leading role of IBEC in strengthening regional economic connections, which corresponds to the status of a multilateral development institution.
According to Sergey Shaban, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Belgazprombank, partnership with IBEC expands bank's instruments for trade support, and will help to increase the attractiveness of financing, provided by the bank to Belarusian enterprises for the implementation of foreign economic projects.
